Menchies is an ingenious frozen yogurt store. They really have something for everyone : a selection of sugar free and low fat options, a sorbet or non-dairy flavor for those who are lactose intolerant. Menchies flavors rotate but all the ones I have tasted are delicious. I am partial to chocolate and berry flavored yogurt, but my daughter likes the cake batter one, which oddly tastes like cake batter! They provide little taste cups so your kids can fill up and try all the flavors they want (without you feeling like some ice cream scooper person is cursing the moment you walked in.) The part that is the most fun though is that you serve yourself! Granted, when dear sweet four year old starts to pull the chocolate frozen yogurt lever down you must supervise and be quick with your hand lest your child piles a gallon of chocolate yogurt swirl into the container, but what fun he/she will have with the illusion of serving him or herself. Menchies also has a dizzying array of toppings to douse your concoction with ranging from mini peanut butter cups to granola, jellybeans or imagine this – fruit. (Okay, so your kids will breeze right by the strawberries.) But Menchies is delicious and a lot of fun, and moderately healthy if you forget about all the candy.
Your yogurt is weighed at the end and I have to say it is very reasonable. For the three of us (Mom’s gotta have a little chocolate too…) It usually weighs in at about six dollars total. A little inexpensive sweetness in this economy is most definitely worth at trip to the Valley.
